Chief Ugwumba loses father in-law.

Abuja based businessman and a high profile Akalite, Chief Festus Okey Ugwoegbu, the Ugwumba 1 of Umuaka has lost his father in-law. Chief Ugwumba disclosed this to Umuaka Times last week when the Abuja correspondents of the newspaper paid him a courtesy call. In a document he sent to Umuaka Times, the late Duru Wilbird Anyaehiwa Onyeanu who died a couple of months ago was a native of Umugwueze Emeke Agbala Owerri North LGA Imo State.
Umuaka Times gathered that the burial arrangements for the late father, grandfather and a top community leader have been made public; Friday 11 October 2024 by 9 am, the body of the late Duru Wilbird Anyaehiwa Onyeanu will leave the Ascension Mortuary Naze Agbala in a motorcade for a historic reception of the body in his compound in Umugwueze Emeke Agbala Owerri. Lying in state follows immediately which will last till about 9:40am.
By 10am, a requiem Mass will be celebrated for the repose of the soul of the deceased at Church of Albert Catholic Church Emeka Agbala Parish. Immediately at the close of the Mass service, interment will follow according to Roman Catholic Christian rites in the compound of the deceased.
The late Duru Wilbird Anyaehiwa Onyeanu according to what Umuaka Times gathered was a devoted Christian father who played a major role in church affairs in his community and beyond. He died at the age of 92 years.
