Chigozie Onyema gathers momentum in NJ as election draws nearer.

As the November 4, 2025 elections draw nearer by the day, Sunday October 19, 2025 was a great day in West Ward in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey USA. On this particular day, Mr Chigozie Onyema, a Democrat, attorney and a top contender to represent the residents of West Ward City Council in Newark Essex County NJ in the upcoming election went on an aggressive campaign that pulled a massive crowd and high profile personalities. It can be recalled that a couple of months ago, Umuaka Times wrote, “A youthful American based Akalite who lives in the state of New Jersey has won the primary election to represent his constituency at the state house of assembly.”

According to Umuaka Times correspondents in America, Chigozie Onyema, the youthful Akalite, young politician and a powerful orator was able to bring the movers and shakers of the society to his campaign ground. Top among them were Wes Moore, the current Governor of Maryland and Mikie Sherrill, the gubernatorial candidate of Democratic Party in NJ as well as the leadership of the Democratic Party.

When the youthful Onyema mounted the podium, he greeted the gathering and mentioned some prominent party members at the rally. He began by telling the people that anytime he reflects on what was required of him and his party, what came to his mind is love, the kind of love that makes something real. He spoke on the need for the community to embark on positive change powered by love for humanity and reminded the people that the enormous task ahead needs the support of all.

His speech moved the audience to the extent that almost every pause that came during his speech, the crowd hailed him and clapped in admiration and appreciation.

From what Umuaka Times gathered, the election will come on November 4 and it is generally believed that victory for Onyema is a question of time because West Ward City Council in Newark Essex County NJ community is a stronghold for the Democratic Party.

Umuaka Times also gathered that some high profile Akalites were in attendance during the campaign.
