Chris Nwachukwu bags another chieftaincy title.

On Sunday December 29, 2024, the Amandugba Council of Chiefs through her traditional ruler HRM Eze I.O.U. Ikejiofor, the Igwe Gbajiri Egbe iv of Amandugba Ancient Kingdom bestowed the prestigious title of Omereoha 1 of Amandugba on Uba Umuaka born Chief Chris Nwachukwu.
The event which was celebrated at the palace of the Amandugba monarch was a part of the activities marking the bi-annual event of the community tagged Igu Afor Eze Ofala, 2024 edition.
Umuaka Times local affairs correspondents who covered the event gathered that several other personalities from Imo State and beyond also received similar honours.
While conferring the title of Omereoha 1 of Amandugba Ancient Kingdom on Chief Chris Nwachukwu, the Amandugba royal father described the amiable recipient as someone who the community has come to accept as an honorary citizen of Amandugba Ancient Kingdom. The Onye Eze further disclosed to Umuaka Times reporters that the community decided to give the chieftaincy title to Chief Chris Nwachukwu in recognition of all the efforts and contributions Chief Mrs Joy Nwadike, an Akalite from Ugbele married in Amandugba has been making in the community. Chief Mrs Joy Nwadike who holds multiple chieftaincy titles is also the Onosolo Eze 1 of Amandugba.
According to the royal father, “The palace has indeed recognized all the contributions of Onosolo Eze and we asked her to bring someone from Umuaka we can honour as a gratitude to all her efforts. She forwarded the name of Chief Chris “Chri Wowo” Nwachukwu.”
In his acceptance speech, Chief Nwachukwu thanked the royal father, Chief Mrs Joy Nwadike, the cabinet members Amandugba town and her Council of Chiefs for finding him worthy for the chieftaincy award. Chief Nwachukwu traced the cordial relationship between the Nwachukwu family of Uba Umuaka which started from his father till the present day.
“Our family is at peace with Amandugba and we both parties love it. I really can’t thank you people enough and I pray that this title will open new opportunities for the community and our family strengthen the relationship.”
For those who never knew, Chief Chris Nwachukwu is a man who has been bestowed with multiple chieftaincy titles, awards and honours across Imo State and even outside the country. On the chieftaincy titles, Chief Nwachukwu holds the following honours. 1. The Omezirimba 1 of Umuaka. 2. The Omeiheukwu 1 of Uloanno Ndugba. (This title was conferred based on the entire recommendations from the Old Boys’ Association of High School Umuaka). 3. The Onwanaagbaraoha of Ebenator Ekwe and the last being the Omereoha 1 of Amandugba.
Among other awards, Chief Chris Nwachukwu has also won the Umuaka Times Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year Award as well as the Man of the Year Award from the same newspaper.
From the solid indicators that emerged last week, the Chris Nwachukwu era can be described as a signpost of a golden age. This may most likely be the end of the beginning for the high profile Akalite, great attorney and man of the people who according to Chief Ugo Johnson Anyiam, “is a supporter of every good thing.”
