Chukwuemeka Ebeleukwu takes chieftaincy title from Amaimo.

On Tuesday (Nkwo) 22 April 2025, history was made in the palace of HRH Eze Otumbadi C. Onuoha (KSJI), the Ofo 1 of Umuofo Amaimo and the chairman Eze in-Council as he bestowed a chieftaincy title on an illustrious son of Umuezeala Uba Umuaka. On this eventful sunny day of Easter Tuesday, friends, family and well-wishers gathered in the palace of the prominent Amaimo monarch and the event began.
Shortly after everyone had seated, the royal father took a royal walk to the palace as everyone stood up as he was ushered in. The guests kept standing while the royal father was being greeted in the customary manner of greeting royal fathers in Igboland. After the exchange of greetings between the monarch and his guests, the MC directed everyone to get seated and the event officially began.
Presentation of kola-nuts was the next item that followed in the program. The kola nuts were blessed, served and other activities followed as well. In few minutes time the master of the ceremonies announced that it was time to bestow a chieftaincy title on Mr Chukwuemeka Paul Ebeleukwu alongside his beautiful wife.
In few minutes time, the man who stepped into the palace as Mr Chukwuemeka Paul Ebeleukwu, stepped out of the palace alongside with his wife as High Chief Chukwuemeka Paul Ebeleukwu, the Ogbuhuro Uzo 1 of Imo State and his wife also stepped out as Lolo Ezenwanyi Chinasa Ebeleukwu, the Osodiakpaku 1 of Imo State respectively.
Friends and well-wishers who went from Umuaka community alongside with the new high chief witnessed as an official certificate of chieftaincy title from the palace was expressly issued to High Chief Ebeleukwu by the high profile monarch.
While speaking with Umuaka Times local correspondents, High Chief Ebeleukwu disclosed that he took the name Ogbuhuruzo because people used to address him in that manner. He further stated that where he lives presently, he was the first person to develop the area before others started to occupy.
Meanwhile congratulatory messages have been pouring in for the new high chief in town. Umuezeala Uba born High Chief Eddy Ikwubuo who is the chairman of Obiato Council of Chiefs was the first to congratulate the couple before others followed.
While making his appreciation speech, High Chief Chukwuemeka Paul Ebeleukwu who is also a well-known native doctor used the opportunity and greeted those who supported him during the coronation. First on the list was HRM Eze Henry Izuchukwu Ojinnaka of Umuaka. Others include Hon John Amarachukwu Nwaike, the Executive Chairman NANTMP Imo State Chapter, High Chief Eddy Ikwubuo, the Agunechenba 1 of Njaba. Others include Chief Stephen Umunnakwe Ebeleukwu, the Akwudoro Dike Ogwu 1 of Umuaka, High Chief Gabriel Iwuala, High Chief Gilbert Iheanacho, Chief Chinedu Iwuajoku, Chief Luke Anunuso, Professor Mike Dike, Dr Chigozie Ndubuzor and Chief Uzoma Silvanus.
