Comprehensive Sec Sch. Amurie Omanze holds inter-house sports.

Thursday 3 April 2025 was a great and eventful day in Amurie Omanze of Isu LGA. Several dignitaries from far and near gathered in the premises of Comprehensive Secondary School Amurie Omanze during the event of inter-house sports of the great institution which was founded in 1978. The arrival of the Umuaka Times reporters and publisher at the event further strengthened the quality of the event as the MC of the event described them as special guests from another LGA. The event kicked off shortly after the arrival of Umuaka Times team and other personalities invited for the occasion. The invitation to the high table by the MC to Mr Darlington Ojy Onwukwe who represented Mr Uchechukwu Dike, an illustrious son of the community who could not make it to the event marked the beginning of the first phase of the event. With Onwukwe was Mr John Paul Onuoha (Bishop), the manager Texas Bar and Night Club Umundugba.
By 1:48 pm, the opening prayer which signalized the opening of the event by Pastor Kelechi Ndubuisi was said. The chairman of the event made opening remarks shortly after the prayers were said. In his speech, Onwukwe eulogized the organizational competence of the principal of the school Mrs Theresa Onyema who was praised by the guests who were at the event for all her fruitful efforts towards building the school and giving it a new image. According to sources, the Comprehensive Secondary School Amurie Omanze had her last inter-house sports activities in 2017. Onwukwe thanked the principal of the school and also appreciated the athletes who were set to participate in the sporting activities of the day. He also thanked Mr Uzor Kingsley, the chairman of the planning committee for the inter-house sports.
According to him, it is events like inter-house sports in secondary schools that champions are identified and groomed to shake the world of sports and entertainments.
At the end of his speech, kola nuts were presented and that blessed and shared among the guests who came from both Njaba and Isu LGAs.
The first event that was done was the match past which was among Green House, Blue House, Red House, Yellow House and White House. By the end of the march past, athletics began and all the houses took part in the event.
When the athletic activities came to an end, it was already cloudy and people who came from far places were arranging to leave, Onwukwe stood up and made an announcement of N50,000 on behalf of Mr Uchenna Dike the chairman of the event that he represented.
The 2025 edition of inter-house sports of Comprehensive Secondary School Amurie Omanze was indeed a huge success.
