Deacon Wilson Osunwa, a devoted Christian and pillar of the assemblies of God Church Umuaka, has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of faith, resilience, and dedication to the Kingdom of God.

According to the biographical notes Umuaka Times came across which was written by Mr K.C. Osunwa, Dee Willie as he was called by close associates was born in 1941 to Mr and Mrs Ukachi Osunwa. His early life was marked by hardship and perseverance after losing his father at a young age, he struggled to continue his education, eventually dropping out of St. Paul’s Primary School, Achara Umuaka, to fend for himself and his family.
Despite the challenges, Deacon Osunwa remained determined, serving an apprenticeship with a local firm called TND from 1956-1962 and later venturing into business in Cameroon in 1963. His return to Nigeria in 1967 was marked by further trials, including the Nigerian Civil War, which forced him to explore various trades, including block molding.

In 1971, Deacon Wilson met his wife, Calista Nwaoyibo Osunwa, and their union was blessed with 9 children and 17 grandchildren. His life took a profound turn in 1975 when he gave his life to Christ, becoming a devoted member of the Assemblies of God Church Umuaka, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Throughout his life, Deacon Wilson Osunwa faced persecution and ridicule for his faith, but remained faithful, earning the respect and admiration of his community. His legacy of faith, perseverance, and dedication to the Kingdom of God will be forever remembered.
