Deacon Wilson Osunwa Buried with Dignity in Umuaka.

The funeral service of the late Deacon Wilson Osunwa, a revered Christian leader, took place on December 30, 2025, at his residence in Umulolo Umuezeala Uba Umuaka. The ceremony was attended by family, friends, church members, and representatives from various Pentecostal churches in Umuaka and beyond.

The proceedings began at 8 am, with mourners gathering at the deceased’s compound. The motorcade carrying the remains arrived at 11 am, and the casket was taken into a room for lying in state and viewing by mourners who wished to pay their last respect to the deceased. Pastors from the Assemblies of God Church Umuaka, where Deacon Osunwa served, offered prayers for the repose of his soul.

The ceremony included a procession, hymns, and testimonies from family members and church representatives of which a senior pastor delivered a sermon, and an offering was taken, with the proceeds handed over to the family in accordance with church tradition.

About two hours later, the 84-year-old Deacon Osunwa was laid to rest at the graveside, with attendees paying their last respects. The burial was followed by a reception, where guests were served food and non-alcoholic drinks.

The deceased’s son, Mr Chinedu Osunwa, expressed gratitude to those who attended the ceremony, praying for their safe return home.
