The teachers and parents of the students and pupils of Diamond Princess Academy, a model primary and post primary school in Umuaka fashioned after the British school system on Tuesday January 20, 2026 held the maiden edition of her Parents-Teachers Association meeting. The meeting which was held in the multi-purpose hall of the great learning centre attracted several parents whose children are students and pupils in the great school.

Speaking during the meeting in an opening speech, the chairman and executive director of the prestigious citadel of learning, Chief Leo Offorji, a British based legal practitioner thanked all the parents for coming for the meeting and further explained that the purpose of the meeting was to carry the parents along on how best to position for unbeatable academic excellence. He appealed to them to have patience with the school authorities for the duration of the meeting and urged everyone to make contributions and sacrifices towards the progress of the school and for the effective academic training of the pupils and students of the school.

Mrs Igbokwe Adaku, a consultant for the school on academic matters took time to explain to parents the need to pay their school fees as at when due. She acknowledged the current situation of things in Nigeria today in terms of economic hardship and went further to appeal to them to try their best to meet up with the school fees of their children on time.

“I am a parent and a teacher; I make sure that I effect the payment of school fees of my children at the resumption of school as a point of duty.” She finally hailed the parents and gave them a pat on the back with 5 “gbosas” on their resilience to make sure their children get the best of academics against all odds.

During the question and answer session, Chief Offorji took the parents on the story behind the success of Diamond Princess Academy. According to him, he had only 18 months left to become a Catholic priest but someone from Kwara State whom he never knew met him and took him to UK where he read law and established his private law firm. He disclosed that the purpose of the school was not to make profit but to give back to the society with regards to the sound education he had received in the past.

“I actually wanted to use this building for a hotel project but I had a second thought and changed my mind and invested on what would benefit the society more,” he concluded.

Many other parents who attended the meeting took time to ask questions on excursions, school fees increment, insurance, feeding program and many more. Offorji, answered all the questions with deep intelligence and explanations to the full understanding of all.

When the meeting came to an end, many parents who spoke to Umuaka Times expressed their happiness on the meeting and resolved that they would continue to keep their children in the hands of Diamond Princess Academy.

Umuaka Times reporters who monitored the meeting confirmed last week that the attendance of parents to the meeting and the preparation of the school authorities were all a testament that Diamond Princess Academy has come to stay. The 2026 academic year of the school has already resumed.
