The exhibition which was held at Pope John Paul II Major Seminary Main Hall Awka, started from Friday May 10th and ended on May 12, 2024.
From the narrative of the event, Ms Ahumaraeze who is the founder and the CEO of Ekefyn Arts Global Concepts confirmed to Umuaka Times that the event also went live on Facebook on the first and second days of the exhibition. Umuaka Times was reliably informed that the exhibition “was an avenue and a step she took to usher herself into the art world professionally.”
In a brief post exhibition interview with Ms Ahumaraeze, she disclosed to Umuaka Times that “The Suspension of Disbelief was a huge step to clear myself of self-doubts and limitations of what I am capable of doing and achieving as long as creativity is concerned.”
It can be recalled that the exhibition kicked off with the celebration of a Holy Mass which the Chief celebrant was the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor at the same venue. Ahumaraeze, while responding to questions from reporters on the lessons of the exhibition emphatically said: “The lesson from this exhibition as the host is the fact that no dream is too big to be actualized. Especially when God is by your side, nothing can stop you.”
On why she went into art, she told reporters that “People keep asking me what took me into art. But the truth is art chose me. It’s a gift from God; I listened to my inner self and allowed the spirit of God to guide me.”
She specifically encouraged people to go into fine and applied arts because of limitless opportunities therein. On her final note, she disclosed that the “This exhibition will further bring out the artist professionally for collaborators, art collectors, partners and even learners to start reaching out.” She told Umuaka Times.
Before she wrapped up the interview with Umuaka Times, she gave a vote of thanks saying, “I want to thank my parents and siblings for their prayers and support, my relatives and friends, art colleagues, mentors and tutors and especially all those who gave their supports in their various capacities including patronage. They too shall find favor, Amen.”
