Emenike excited over Umuaka Times Award.
1 min readFormer member of Super Eagles and Nigeria’s international footballer, Emmanuel Chinenye Emenike who received a merit award from Umuaka Times last week has shown his heartfelt excitement over the award from Umuaka Times. Speaking from his residence in Owerri after the presentation of the award by Umuaka Times, Emenike thanked the Umuaka Times team for the good works it has been doing and called on well meaning Akalites to support the publication. He said he really feels at home anytime he reads the newspaper online.
According to him, he had to suspend some of his official and personal engagements and created the time to receive the Umuaka Times team. He described the award as excellent, timely and joked that it is the first time a prophet was being honored by his people.
Emenike displayed his displeasure over the state of things in Umuaka today considering the rising waves of crime and the recklessness of motorcycle boys. He pointed out his readiness to support any move by Umuaka Times etc to bring back social sanity in the community.
On the Umuaka Times team who presented the award were, Darlington Ojy Onwukwe and Uchenna Dike, the coach of Fr Eburuaja FC. Mr Okoro Saviour Onyebuchi, another footballer who was also a part of the team could not make it on time due to some certain reasons.
