Eze Ohazurume spends N21 million to restore electricity within 18 days in Okoroduru Ekwe.

The indigenes of Okoroduru Ekwe Kingdom of Isu LGA Imo State, last December enjoyed their Christmas and New Year celebrations courtesy of the royal magnanimity of the traditional ruler of the community, HRH Eze Engineer Marksaviour Ezeugo Nwoke, the Igwe Ohazurume II of Okoroduru Ekwe Kingdom. This was disclosed to the local affairs correspondents of Umuaka Times when they paid an official visit to the palace of the young and vibrant monarch last week. According to those who spoke with Umuaka Times, the royal father’s priority is the progress and success of his community which he has demonstrated in diverse ways.

The community had no electricity for a very long time and when the news got to the royal father, he reportedly swung into action and vowed to make sure that his people would enjoy the Christmas and New Year celebrations with full and un-epileptic electricity supply. The royal father was said to have called some stakeholders meeting and made some calls and eventually sank the sum of N21,000,000 to the project. After a period of 18 days, the community began to bustle with uninterrupted electricity supply till date. This great move by the highly respected monarch has been hailed by other communities who got hint of the project to restore power in Okoroduru.
Umuaka Times gathered that the good news of the eventual restoration of electric supply in the community indeed went viral within and outside the country. This made some of the sons of the community to visit home during the last Christmas celebration.
The royal father who has multiple royal nicknames including, “the deity that a forklift carries” confirmed the claim and prayed for the community. In his prayers, he wished all the indigenes of his community and their tenants success in the year 2026 and appealed to the gods of the land to protect the community.
