Ezeala wake keep: How Fr Eburuaja became man of the night.

Rev Emmanuel Eburuaja is not only a man of the people but also an adopted son of Umuaka. He is a man whose personality is impossible to ignore as far as Umuaka town is concerned. During the wake night of Dr Ezeala, many people had gathered and seated in groups and suddenly a loud voice was heard from the gate which attracted the attention of the wake keep gusts. Behold it was the Father Di Oha Mma the First of Mgbee, Rev Father Emmanuel Eburuaja. His presence at the wake night created a form of commotion as he was busy going from one canopy to another exchanging pleasantries with friends, parishioners and well wishers.
Women, youths, children and every other person present at the occasion were eager to catch a glimpse of the man who was loved by Umuaka people to an unimaginable proportion. Camera men and photo-journalists were also busy following him as he moved from one corner to another just to get some good pictures of the man.
After the sensational entry of Eburuaja, he decided to sit down with the youths of Umuaka Sports Council and some members of Eburuaja Football Club. As he sat down, people kept gathering around his canopy in order to exchange greetings with him and take pictures with him as well.
This also happened during the church service at St Mary’s Church, where the late Prof Ezeala used to worship during his lifetime. The Church shares the same compound with the famous Santa Maria Secondary School where the Rev Father used to work as the school principal when he was the parish priest. The moment the students cited him in th compound, a loud and prolonged noise and screening rented the air to the extent that those in the church were shocked at what may have happened.
