Favour Awuzu, Akalites in the States hold talks with Igolo.

In the evening of Saturday 5th June 2021, American based and fast rising Akalite, a man with several chieftaincy titles including Amutaezinwa 1 n’ Akahland, Dr Favour Chidex Awuzu hosted Rt Hon Amb Uju Onwudiwe (Igolo Njaba), the House member representing Njaba LGA in the Imo State House of Assembly. This event took place in the Cedar Hill Residence of Dr Awuzu, Texas USA. The visit by Igolo which was private, technically turned to a familiarization visit as policy discussions on how to better the lot of Njaba people took prominence in their discussions. Amongst issues raised in the discussions were the need for better synergy between Orlu Regional Assembly USA (ORAUSA) and Hon members representing the 12 local government councils in Orlu Zone.
Another issue discussed during the familiarization visit was how to promote peace in various communities like Isiozi-Akah since charity begins at home. At this point, the host, Dr Awuzu reaffirmed that Isiozi-Akah has an authentic Eze in the person of HRH Eze Barr Victor Obioma Ijeoma and urged all who are still putting their gloves on, to sheath their swords and embrace peace in the interest of development in Isiozi-Akah. Awuzu also noted that due to the current security situation in Orlu and Imo State, Isiozi-Akah cannot afford unnecessary distractions from any quarter which may a form of social retardation to the wheel of development in the region. He advised HRH Eze Victor Ijeoma to reach out to all the aggrieved parties and work out ways of addressing their interests to the extent that such peace and reconciliation initiatives will not jeopardize the collective interest of Isiozi-Akah.
Umuaka Times correspondent in America gathered that the issue of insecurity was also paramount in the discussions held. Dr. Favour Awuzu briefed Igolo on the efforts of ORAUSA through ORAPAC which he is the Chairman. The official position of the two Orlu groups is to ensure that peace and normalcy return to Orlu in double quick time.
In her own response, the honourable member popularly known as Igolo Njaba noted that the state governor Senator Hope Uzodimma means well for Imolites but is agitated because of attacks on his person and public properties in the state. She noted that Ndi Igbo must learn when to draw the lines of politics and support leaders to provide good governance to the people. She sued for peace amongst the former two governors from Orlu zone and the current governor.
While commending her for the visit, Dr Awuzu pointedly put it thus: “Unless you encounter Igolo Njaba one on one, you won’t truly appreciate her golden qualities. A combination of beauty, brain, sagacity, wisdom, calmness, empathy and most virtues reflective of true humanity.”
In the company of Igolo were her husband Chief Onwudiwe and an elder sister. Other Akalites who graced the event were dignitaries like Chief Amutaezinwa Lolo Chinenyenwa Awuzu, Pa Damian and Ezinne Bernadine Awuzu, Dr. Emeka and Dr. Mrs. Chinwe Nwokedi, Chief Chibuzo Ibegbulem (Ugwudinanwa 1 of Isiozi-Akah), Engr Nnaemeka and Princess Diche Igbokwuwe.
