Football: Eburuaja appeals for funding.
2 min readAll people’s priest and lover of sports and youths empowerment Rev Father Emmanuel Eburaja has appealed to Umuaka sons and daughters as well as social clubs etc to come to the aid of Father Ebruraja Football Club Umuaka. While addressing football lovers, Umuaka Council of Sports and others who gathered at the Unity Primary School Obinwanne last Sunday to witness the friendly football match between Eburuaja FC and All Stars FC of Umuaka, Eburuaja used the opportunity to inform the people on his determination to take the boys to play football overseas professionally.
On the agenda to professional football, he announced that there are football matches lined up for the club both at the state and interstate levels which require a lot of preparations and finances. According to him, each trip costs not less than N10, 000 including transport and other logistics.
In order to create an enabling environment and football condition for the Eburuaja FC, he used the opportunity to appeal to the people for funding, saying, “I can’t do it alone.”
After the passionate appeal from the priest, many people started to announce their donations on the spot, including Chief Chukwwuma Ezeala who performed the opening kickoff of the football match on behalf of HRH Eze Justin Ezeala.
Father Eburuaja announced that anybody who would like to make a donation to the club can reach the club through many sources including the Facebook page, Father Eburuaja FC.
Meanwhile when Umuaka Times contacted the head coach of the Eburuaja FC, Mr Uchenna Dike on the development, he confirmed what Father Eburuaja said and went ahead to shade more light. “Father Eburuaja FC will be participating in the national state league mock tournament organized by Libra Motors in a few days from now. The event will hold in Imo State in the old stadium. Our match will be against Vikings FC on Monday 16 November, 2020 by 4 pm.”
