2 min readThe Father Eburuaja Football Club of Nigeria with headquarters in Umuaka has once again shined at the ongoing national football tournament. Last week, the team defeated Green Berets FC at the Lokoja National Stadium by 3-2 in the ongoing round of 64 FA National Championship.
Father Emmanuel Eburuaja, the youthful Catholic Rev Father who is the founder of the FC, personally went to Lokoja last week with his boys to witness the event. The Reverend Father whose is madly in love with football added an electrifying presence at the stadium during the match. His presence according to a footballer from the Eburuaja FCwho did not want his name in print, energized and motivated them in no small way to achieve success at the football pitch.
The boys after their successful outing came back to Imo State last week and first arrived at the premises of St Mary’s Catholic Church Umuaka, where some Akalites led by a former commissioner in the state, Chief Louis Duru was among the dignitaries who welcomed them back home.
From what Umuaka Times gathered from the technical adviser of the club popularly known as Coach Uche, the team will be playing against Doma United of Gombe in no distant time.
A day before the departure of the boys to Lokoja, Umuaka Times publisher visited the team during her training session at Hilltop Primary School Uba Umuaka and encouraged them and wished them success. The technical adviser and his deputy Mr Daniel Omeka used the opportunity and thanked Umuaka Times for finding time to visit the boys during one of their trainings.
For now, all eyes are on the Father Eburuaja FC whose members have been described at certain quarters as excellent performers.
