Frances Anyakudo named high school player of the week in America.

A 17 year old Nigerian American born high school student of Central High School Macon, Georgia USA has joined the globally famous list of Nigerian prodigies who are achieving great feats in the entertainment industry from the United States of America and other parts of the world. Miss Frances Ihechi Anyakudo who is currently making waves in her school in the regional basketball tournament on February 12 2025 emerged the most valuable player of the week.
Little Miss Anyakudo who hails from Umudibi Ekwe community in Isu LGA Imo State is currently being celebrated both in Nigeria and America over her basketball skills and achievements. According to HypeSouth Facebook handle while commenting on the success of Anyakudo puts it thus: “It seemed like Central-Macon sophomore Francis Anyakudo grabbed every rebound off the glass. Her defensive versatility was also notable. The second year forward could be the next x-factor on the Lady Chargers state title quest.”
Also commenting on the meaningful strides of the basketball club, Michael Woody wrote: The Lady Chargers are advancing to the Elite 8 with a 73-54 victory over Laney. There were several deserving game balls presented but the menacing defense by #21 Frances Anyakudo lit a spark into the Lady Chargers who will have to travel to Banks County for their next game.”
In a brief interview with Mr Simon Anyakudo, the father of the celebrated player, the gentleman disclosed that his daughter plays with Central High School Macon and that is where she won the Player of the Week award. She also plays with a local club called the Georgia Dream Team which recruits players from high schools across the states.
Umuaka Times gathered that little Miss Anyakudo will soon be playing for Alcorn State University in Alcorn Mississippi on a full scholarship.
