Great 99 club donates to alma matter.
2 min readThe old boys of St Saviour’s Secondary School Umuaka (now in Amiyi Akah), 1999 set on Friday 6 December 2024 embarked on an official visit to her alma matter. The students who displayed deep sense of patriotism and joy gathered at the premises of the highly esteemed college by 11 pm on the said date. Shortly after their arrival, the old students assembled near the office of the school principal and shortly after that, the principal came down to welcome them with some of his staff members.
The spokesman of the Great 99, Engineer Okey Nwoke took time to address the gathering while answering some questions from Umuaka Times. In his speech, Engineer Nwoke introduced the organization and disclosed that the mission of the old boys at the great institution was to make a donation of some bookshelves and chairs to the school for proper equipment of the school library.
Umuaka Times further gathered that it was not the first time the school was receiving some donations from Great 99 set. From the speech of Engineer Nwoke, Great 99 is somehow a regular visitor to Saint Saviour’s Secondary School.
After announcing the donation, the principal of the school Rev Charles Maduabuchi Anagwo took the opportunity and thanked the old boys for their kind gesture and for remembering their alma matter. At the end of his appreciation speech, the senior prefect of the school was also given an opportunity to make an acceptance speech.
At the end of the presentation, group photographs were taken and the principal took the old boys to his office for more discussions on how to improve the academic activities at the school.
Some of the old boys who spoke with Umuaka Times disclosed that it was about the third time the group was paying an official visit to her alma matter and presented some items for the students.
