2 min readOn Sunday 10 November 2024, the lavishly furnished hospitality service provider in Umuaka Njaba LGA Imo State, De Lemon Grove Hotel opened for business. The event which attracted the presence of youths, “motorcycle boys”, entertainers and Achara Umuaka top community leaders, kicked off around 4 pm.
Those who came in for the grand opening, on getting into the large compound of the hotel would first observe the presence of a live band that played from evening till the late hours of the night. Seated close to the band was a cross section of Achara kinsmen and women who came to witness the great event. The live band provided music entertainment for those who wished to see a live band play songs of their choices.
Just as envisaged by Umuaka Times, several people gathered around the live band and danced away their sorrows and the current hardship in the country.
Down to the pool side, the in-house DJ of the hotel was also busy blasting music from the laptop to entertain those who wanted to witness a DJ music entertainment.
Those who like to swim also got a high dose of swimming during the grand opening of the hotel.
When all the guests had gathered, including the young and the old, Chief Oluchi Nwanarado, a high profile Chief in Achara Umuaka community was called by the MC to prepare for the cutting of the tape. In few minutes time, Chief Nwanarado and his kinsmen were ready for the ritual of cutting the tape and were given the microphone. Chief Nwanarado prayed and asked God to bless the project and let the project not bring bad things to the community, owners of the hotel and her patrons. After the prayer, everyone chorused a loud amen and Chief Nwanarado cut the tape thereby, declaring De Lemon Grove Hotel officially open.
For those who may not have known, De Lemon Grove Hotel is owned by an Akalite who lives in South Africa simply addressed as Hon Ehirim. The hotel has all it takes to make some high profile Akalites and their friends to stop going all the way to Owerri to lodge and catch fun. Umuaka Times findings confirmed that the hotel has already provided over 25 jobs to Akalite and others as at last week when it was opened.
