Hon Ozioma Worship sand fills roads in Umuaka.
2 min readThe Imo State House of Assembly member representing the Njaba LGA, Hon Ozioma (Worship) Ebonine has sand filled some major roads in the Umuaka locality. The honourable member who is well known as Eze Ngwori embarked on the project a couple of weeks ago. In an exclusive interview he had with Umuaka Times, the honourable member disclosed that the roads he sand filled included Amiyi Afara Road, Umuaka Ukwuoji Road and Umuaka Amaigbo Road.
On the source of the funds spent to carry out the sand filling project, the Eze Ngwori told Umuaka Times in an exclusive interview last week that he spent his personal money to carry out the project. “You know if the state government wants to do these roads, it will go through the local government councils and there will be fresh contracts. But in this case, it was a part of the campaign promises I made during our campaign days. I had to do it for our people to enjoy their Christmas celebrations with my personal money.”
From indications, the roads in question are all state roads because each of them cuts across some local government areas in the state. The reason for sand filling the roads according to Eze Ngwori is to make the roads motorable pending when the government will embark on a massive rehabilitation of the roads in the nearest future.
Asked if he had any other source of funding during the sand filling exercise, the honourable member confirmed that Hon Obinna (Brainbox) Orgazi and Mr Okey (Mayor) Okpara gave him the sum of N100, 000 each to support the project. He thanked them for their support and promised that he would use his position to convince the state government to carry out a total rehabilitation of the roads as soon as possible. He used the opportunity and thanked the Njaba people etc for their patience during the years of bad roads in the communities.
Several Akalites who have passed through the roads have commended the honourable member for the timely intervention on the dilapidated roads.
