How Chief Dennis Ezeigbo and wife thrilled children on Xmas Day.
3 min readIn the last 6 years, every December 25 has always been a day set aside by the US based philanthropist and his wife, Chief and Lolo Dennis Ezeigbo to entertain children and celebrate Christmas for them together with their parents. December 25 last year being 2022, was not different from the usual fun and entertainment that children and their parents get from Chief and Lolo Dennis Ezeigbo yearly.
Around 12 mid day on the Christmas Day, Umuaka Times reporters had already arrived at the country home of the Ezeigbos to observe things and record the gilts and thrills that will form the news items of the event.
Around 1pm, the DJ was already playing music and guests started to arrive little by little. By 2pm, many had gathered at the event including some American returnees who came to witness the yearly event. Chief Ezeigbo in his humility was busy serving and greeting guests who had already come for the event. His Lolo Mrs. Jacqueline Ezeigbo was not left out; she too was busy attending to children and women by supplying all their needs at the right time.
In a couple of minutes, the master of ceremony took the microphone and announced the program of the event. First, he recognized several top personalities who attended the event and went further to call for an opening prayer. After the opening prayer, the Ezeigbo couple presented kola nuts to their guests and the program then began officially.
As a yearly party for the kids, the Ezeigbo couple made sure that each child enjoyed the show fully. There was a dancing competition among the kids which lasted for more than 2 hours before winners emerged.
In a brief chat with Chief Dennis Ezeigbo who holds the chieftaincy title of the Dike Nyiri Oha N’Uzo Eziokwu 1 of Umuaka (the indispensible warrior of the people on the path of truth), he confirmed to Umuaka Times that the dancing competition was the segment he and his wife, Lolo Jacqueline Ezeigbo used to empower the families of the dancing children financially. Umuaka Times observed that the winner of the competition smiled home with the sum of N50,000, second best dancer got the sum of N30,000 and the third best dancer got the sum of N20,000.
Trust children, by the time the competition came to an end, several children started to cry. Umuaka Times tried to find out why they were crying and it was discovered that they were crying because they were evicted from the competition. When words got to Chief Ezeigbo and his wife, they made a quick arrangement and each of the crying children was given the sum of N5,000.
In a brief interview Umuaka Times had with some of the parents who attended the event, they fully thanked the couple for the event and prayed to God to continue to bless them especially in the new year of 2023.
While making his vote of thanks, Chief Dennis Ezeigbo thanked all the parents who came for the event and thanked those who also could not make it but allowed their children to attend the event. The next children’s party with Chief and Lolo Dennis Ezeigbo holds on December 25, 2023.
