How motorcycle boys went crazy.
1 min readWhen the corpse of the late Chief Dennis Nwokedi of Amiyi Akah was brought home last Friday September 2, 2022, many people came to witness the event. Chief among these mourners were the “motorcycle boys” who used the opportunity to display once again their cycling madness.
For over a period of 20 minutes while the traffic logjam lasted, the motorcycle boys used the opportunity to entertain the mourners by driving their motorbikes in totally lawless manners. Some had to remove their shirts while driving and some others were seen blasting the horns of their motorcycles with the head lamps on. Someone described this activity as a public nuisance.
The cycling madness reached an alarming rate when the boys started to drive recklessly towards the mourners who were standing by the road sides.
One of the motorcycle boys who spoke with Umuaka Times bluntly said that people should allow them to mourn their daddy in the manner they considered appropriate. As he suggested, not even the security men or the policemen on duty at the event went close to them to question them.
Some of the boys reportedly fell down but never sustained injuries. The falling of one did not in any way stop another from driving in disorderly manner. The cycling madness came to an end when the corpse of the man known as Dum Dum arrived his family compound.
