How mourners observed the wake keep of Cyriacus Meremikwu.

The final journey of the late Mr Cyriacus Ifeanychukwu Meremikwu to eternity actually started on the night of Thursday May 23, 2024. On this particular night, family and friends as well as colleagues and club members gathered in the compound of the deceased to observe a night of culture and service of songs for the departed.
Around 8 pm, several groups and their representatives in and outside Amakor had all gathered for the wakes night and many came with their musical instruments and showcased their talents and skills.
Umuaka Times also gathered that Amakor Age Grade, youths, Progressive Club and some members of People’s Democratic Party PDP were also represented during the wakes night.
Perhaps the greatest event of the night was the oghu dance which attracted a lot of attention and made serious waves especially during the time of obu oghu.
DJ Lover Boy who was present during the night was also blasting his good music from his music machine when it was time for him to play.
Youths who came for the night took time to drink and do their things in a special youthful way. They sang songs, danced, drank and also smoked.
Umuaka Times can confirm that the heavy presence of mourners who came to give Chairman his last honour during the wakes night really meant that he was indeed a man of the people.
