HRH Eze Marksaviour Nwoke Bags Man of the Year Award for Isu LGA.

It was a long morning of unlimited celebrations and speech making day when HRH Eze Engineer Marksaviour Ezeugo Nwoke, the Igwe Ohazurume II of Okoroduru Ekwe Kingdom last week bagged the Umuaka Times Man of the Year Award in Isu LGA for 2025. A team of Umuaka Times reporters arrived the palace of the king around 10:25 am on Thursday 22 January 2026 to present the prestigious Umuaka Times Man of the Year Award for Isu LGA, the youthful royal father was already seated in his Obi with some of his chiefs who are members of Okoroduru Council of Chiefs as they awaited for the arrival of Umuaka Times team. There were also some domestic assistants who were busy doing one thing or another to ensure the success of the big event. Immediately the team of reporters was cleared by the security, they moved in to greet the monarch as the tradition demands. In few minutes time, that was done and everyone was now seated.

After kola nuts were served, Umuaka Times made a speech. “We are here today absolutely on recommendation we got from not one but many persons who have closely monitored your achievements as the royal father of this community. We are fully aware of the role you play in this community as a royal father and as a philanthropist. Today Umuaka Times has come to bestow on you the Man of the Year Award for 2025 in Isu LGA in recognition of all your philanthropic activities in the community. Congratulations Your Majesty.”

After the brief speech by Umuaka Times, two other prominent chiefs of the community spoke and the prestigious Man of the Year Award for Isu LGA 2025 was handed over to HRH Eze Engineer Marksaviour Ezeugo Nwoke, the Igwe Ohazurume II of Okoroduru Ekwe Kingdom in recognition of his sacrifices, efforts and positive vibes to his community.

In his acceptance speech, the royal father thanked Umuaka Times for spotting what he had been doing in the community and called on the gods of the land to protect his community and the publishers of Umuaka Times newspapers.

Mr Chibuike Duruoha, an Uba Umuaka born political observer who accompanied Umuaka Times to the palace of the royal father expressed his happiness that Umuaka Times can now watch, cover and report events from other communities outside Umuaka. He thanked the royal father and appealed to him to continue on his selfless service to his community.

Many other members of the Okoroduru Council of Chiefs who were present during the event expressed deep satisfaction on what the royal father does in the community. They appealed to Umuaka Times to continue to carry other nearby local government areas in Imo State along in their publications.
