The newly posted parish priest of St Patrick Catholic Church Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community, Rev Father Anthony Onyedikachukwu Ohams has disclosed his happy state of mind from the first day he set his foot in Obinwanneland. The catholic priest who hails from Umuchu in Aguata LGA Anambra State was answering questions from Umuaka Times last week when he disclosed this. According to him, St Patrick’s Church Obinwanne is not his first parish. He has worked in parishes like Holy Ghost Parish Ihitenansa, St Patrick’s Parish Eziachi and All Saints Parish Okwuabala before being posted to Obinwanne Umuaka.

On his observations about the Obinwanne people, the reverend father showed deep joy over the spirit of oneness displayed by the Christian community in Obinwanne during the reception to welcome him a couple of weeks ago. He told Umuaka Times that he is not only happy to be posted in Obinwanne but he sees it as a great privilege which he will utilize properly in his service to Obinwanne people.

On his final note, the priest thanked the entire Obinwanne people, especially the royal father of the community HRM Eze Justin Ezeala, Bishop Austin Ukwuoma and others who have worked in making the new parish a reality. Rev Father Tony Ohams was posted to Obinwanne community by the Catholic Bishop of Orlu Diocese, Dr Austin Ukwuoma on November 18 2022, as the pioneer parish priest of Obinwanne’s St Patrick’s Parish.
