2 min readIndications emerging from several quarters across Nigeria and the Diaspora strongly suggest that Chief Emeka Ihedioha, the Supreme Court ousted governor of Imo State is buildings bridges, and making several consultations that will see him back to Imo State Government House, the state seat of power come 2024.
From the findings so far established by Umuaka Times, Ihedioha has been meeting with top stakeholders in the state, Imolites in Diaspora, top PDP officials across the country and other relevant persons and groups as discussions continue to emerge.
On Monday July 4, 2022, the Greater Houston Nigerian Community in Dallas United States of America held an interactive town hall meeting with Chief Emeka Ihedioha where some crucial issues concerning Imo State under Ihedioha’s 7 month reign were discussed. The event which was supposed to begin by 4 pm started very late because of the late arrival of Ihedioha. While speaking at the event, Ihedioha reminded Imolites that he visited America last in 2019 but had no time yet to revisit again to thank them for the support they gave him during his campaign.
Plainly put, the PDP politician who is believed to be generally loved by Imo people disclosed to the audience that he was not in the country to campaign but to thank them because the ban on campaign had not been lifted.
The town hall meeting however, coincided with the date of American Independence Day. This development affected the number of people who would have been present at the event which took place at All Saints Community Hall.
Before the end of the event, many people spoke on some political issues concerning Imo State and several others asked some questions about Nigeria, the PDP, Imo State and the next elections. State and National Elections in Nigeria was the topic of discussion.
Rt. Hon Chief Sir Emeka Ihedioha is a Nigerian politician, businessman and the immediate past governor of Imo State. He was in Imo State as her governor just for seven months before the Supreme Court removed him and installed Senator Hope Uzodimma.
For now, Honourable Emeka Ihedioha is busy establishing blocs and institutions possibly in his preparations for Imo governorship election come 2024. Others are also making such moves. Only time will tell who occupies the Government House Owerri come 2024.
