Imo Football League kicks off with funfair.

Yesterday being 5 July 2025, the much awaited football tournament tagged Imo League 2025 kicked off at Oisa Stadium Ngor Okpala after a colorful opening ceremony.

The tournament which is organized by Imo Football Club Owners Association has two football clubs from Umuaka among 14 others.

The football clubs are Amiyi FC owned by Dr Chika Duru and Eburuaja FC owned by Father Eburuaja.

At the opening ceremony yesterday, a seminar was held and also a parade by the entire participating football teams.

Umuaka Times reporters gathered that the opening match was between Giant Brilars FC and Captain Marvel FC.

Speaking with Umuaka Times from her UK base, Dr Chika Duru expressed confidence and optimism in her football club, Amiyi FC. According to her, the boys of the club had prepared very well for the tournament and she further encouraged them to bring home the trophy.

In her final conclusion, she appealed to Akalites to continue to support the club any day they will play.
