US based Akalite and a family relation of the late Mazi Chima JJC Ohanekwu has described the passage of his brother as a personal loss. Ezeigbo made the disclosure during an interview he had with Umuaka Times correspondent in America last week on the occasion of the burial of the deceased. According to him, he and his brother Albert arrived home from Enugu in 1976. “It was that time we saw him for the first time and we fell in love with each other as brothers. We did everything together as brothers too.

When the time for secondary school admission came, he gained admission at High School Umuaka while I went to Amandugba Technical School. Almost every Saturday, I was either at High School to look for him or he was in my school to bring me home because we were very close.”

Chief Ezeigbo exclusively told Umuaka Times that JJC graduated from High School Umuaka in 1982 and went to Lagos where he applied and joined the Nigerian Police Force. “I used to visit him in Amukoko, Lagos. His house in Amukoko was like a Mecca for young Akalites in those days because he was a very social and accommodating person.”

Disclosing further, Chief Ezeigbo told Umuaka Times that JJC later left Amukoko and secured an accommodation in Festac Town “where we also lived together until in 1986 when I left for the United States. In the United States, we kept on reaching out to each other and anytime I visited home, he would always come along to my hotel to see me. His death is so painful and I pray we will overcome it.”

On a similar development, Chief Ezeigbo used the opportunity and thanked all the persons who contributed money towards the burial of Mazi Chima Ohanekwu. He prayed to God to continue blessing them and their families.
