Jude Anyaibe: The Exit of a Perfect Gentleman.
2 min readDecember 2023 was a big fun in Umuaka community in Njaba LGA Imo State. The fun, the razzmatazz and the thrills that greeted the Christmas were indeed large, as many diasporan Akalites visited home to reunite with family and friends after several years of no visitations due to the crises of Coronavirus and insecurity. Among the high profile Akalites who made it to Nigeria from the United States during Christmas was Chief Prince Jude Chidi Anyaibe, the Ochasi Nnanyere Ugo I of Umuaka. Prince, as he was fondly called by close family members was not the only Anyaibe that visited home during the 2023 Christmas; his other siblings were also home as they also shared in the nostalgia.
Chief Jude Anyaibe from the observations of Umuaka Times, was a special guest in several events he attended both in and outside Umuaka during the Christmas celebrations and he announced some donations on behalf of his wife at such events. Umuaka Times reporters and photographers gave him prominence in all the events they met him. He never argued or refused to be snapped anytime the Umuaka Times photographers came asking to take his photograph.
Soon after the Christmas celebrations, came the New Year groove. Chief Jude Anyaibe also enjoyed the fresh events that ushered the fresh year of 2024 and few days later, he started to make preparations for his return to the United States of America. After he and his wife had put all arrangements in order, the eagle flew away. Unknown to him, death had a date with him and that date was Sunday January 7, 2024. While on transit to the United States of America, the Heavens blew the trumpet for him, signaling the end of an eventful life that spanned for six and half decades. What a sad end!
The biographical notes of the late chief and gentleman show that Chief Prince Jude Chidi Anyaibe is the second son and fourth child of late Sir Nnaoma Emmanuel and Lolo Lady Ezinne Margaret Anyaibe of Umuawaha Umuezikoha Uba Umuaka. Prince Jude Anyaibe obtained a Master’s in Business Administration at the University of the District of Columbia, Washington, DC and he lived in Maryland USA.
According to a press statement Umuaka Times obtained last week from Chief Chris Anyaibe, the elder brother of the deceased and the head of the Anyaibe dynasty, the burial date for the Prince would be announced by the family on a later date.
Umuaka Times mourns with the entire Anyaibe family both at home and abroad over the tragic loss of her son, Chief Prince Jude Chidi Anyaibe, the Ochasi Nnanyere Ugo 1 of Umuaka. He is survived by a wife and four children as well as numerous family members.
