Late Jeremiah Obiwiru to be laid to rest on January 13, 2026.

The remains of late Pa Jeremiah Obiwuru also known as Lala will be buried on Tuesday 13 January 2026 in his Umulolo Umuezeala Uba Umuaka of Njaba LGA Imo State family compound.

This information was contained in a press statement issued by the family and signed by Mr David Obiwuru on behalf of the entrire Obiwiru family of Umulolo.

Following the activities leading to his burial, the Obiwuru family has fixed a wake-keep and service of songs in his family compound by 8 PM, on Monday January 12, 2026. On the 13th of January 2026, his remains will leave the mortuary of Umuaka Community Hospital to Umulolo Umuezeala Uba Umuaka for a lying in state where friends, family and others will pay their last respect to the deceased. By 10 am, a funeral Mass will be held for the repose of his soul at St Mary’s Catholic Church Umuaka. Interment follows immediately by 12 midday on the same day in his family compound.

The late Jeremiah Obiwuru who until his death was a devoted Christian father of Roman Catholic Church was man of peace whose kindness touched many lives during his lifetime. He died at the age of 78.
