2 min readAn IsiozI Akah born entertainer, hypeman, DJ and ace MC has appealed to the government to support the entertainment industry and harvest the benefits of the industry to the fullest.
MC Awilo whose real name is Augustine Chigeamezu made the advocacy last week in a brief interview with Umuaka Times local affairs correspondents. According to the ace MC who has anchored several events both in places like Lagos and a better part of Igboland, Nigeria is blessed with a lot of untapped talents. “There so many talented entertainers who don’t know where or how to showcase their talents. If a talent show is organized, you will see so many entertainers that will come out. Prizes will be set for the best MCs, DJs, hype men, musicians, dancers and other entertainers. It is this way that the industry will develop better.”
MC Awilo who has worked in big entertainment centres like Sabina Hotel and Suites Lagos, Mickeys Lounge Bar Isu, Hilltop Hotel Umuaka, Verse One Umuaka and a lot more, strongly believes that “First of all, entertainment is what people crave to experience everyday. There is no occasion or event that happens without entertainment. Moreso, there are so many talents that need to be heard here in Nigeria. Government should work with individuals who are well seasoned in the entertainment industry to fish out top talents and also give them chance through loans and grants to help them actualize there potentials.”
The highly versatile MC Awilo is convinced that this move will encourage others to work hard in the entertainment industry and make their individual impact.
