Long Walk to Success As Simon Iberosi Bags Doctorate Degree.
2 min readSimon Iberosi, a highly regarded engineer, a native of Uba Umuaka and associated with Akalite prominence, recently earned a doctorate from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This prestigious achievement, disclosed by an Umuaka Times correspondent in the United States, is in Energy Management, which earned him membership in the Golden Key International Honor Society. Dr. Iberosi is also a senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Inc.
In a conversation with Umuaka Times, Dr. Iberosi expressed his satisfaction with achieving his educational goals in America. He recounted, “My primary ambition in America was to acquire an education and earn all the degrees, and with the doctorate in Energy Management, I have accomplished that. I give God all the glory for realizing this aspiration as part of my American journey.”
Dr. Iberosi’s academic journey is noteworthy, including a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Lagos in 1986, an MBA in Strategy and Finance from the University of Texas Dallas in 2001, an MS in Management Information Technology from Georgia State University in 2009, and finally, a DBA in Energy Management from Walden University in 2023, after defending his dissertation titled: Environmental Corporate Social Responsibility, as a Strategic Imperative of Nigeria’s Multinational Oil Companies’ Business Sustainability, on December 22, 2023.
In acknowledging this academic achievement of Simon, Dr. Yvonne Doll, a faculty member at Walden University, stated, “Please join me in congratulating Simon C. M. Iberosi and the doctoral study committee for receiving CAO approval of your doctoral study and meeting the highest form of scholarship.” This sentiment was further echoed and amplified by Dr. Sue Subocz, Associate President and Provost, as follows, “Congratulations on the successful completion of your doctoral study titled Environmental Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting as a Strategic Imperative of Nigerian Multinational Oil Companies’ Business Sustainability. The announcement of Dr. Iberosi’s accomplishment on various WhatsApp platforms elicited joy from many Akalites, both at home and abroad.
