Madam Perpetua Ahanotu dies at 80.
2 min readThe Ahanotu family of Umuonyeali Ugo Mbieri in Mbaitoli LGA Imo State has announced the passing away of her mother, great grandmother, sister and wife, the late Mrs Perpetua Ahanotu. From the press statement issued by the family which was signed by the first son of the deceased, Mr Gordian Obinna Ahanotu, no date has been fixed for the burial but he however assured the general public that the family will soon announce the burial date the moment it is confirmed.
Left to mourn Mrs Perpetua Ahanotu who was a former president general of Ezinwanne Social Club of Nigeria includes, Mrs Lillian Ori, Miss Juliet Ahanotu, sons and daughters in-law and 12 grandchildren. Obinna Ahanotu, the first son of the deceased is a Warri based engineer who is a member of Klubb-88, a group of old boys of High School Umuaka who graduated in 1988.
The late madam Ahanotu who died at the age of 80 was a devoted Christian mother who made deep contributions to the growth of St Benignus Catholic Church Ihiti Isi Mbano. She died on 28 March 2024.
During her life time, she was one of the founders of Ihite isi Mbieri Women Association Aba and home branches. She was the chairlady, Umuonyeali Ugo Mbieri family meeting Aba branch 1983-1986. She was also the assistant secretary of Ihitte Isi Mbieri Women Union 1973 -1976.
In other social activities, the late madam Perpetua Ahanotu was among the 5 persons that founded Ezinwanne Social Club and one of the founders of Udodiri Women Union of Umuonyeali Ugo Mbieri. Her Christian life was also very rich and selfless. She was the founder of Catholic Women Organization CWO, both home and abroad at St. Benignus Parish Ihitte Isi Mbieri. She also served as the secretary CWO Aba branch. She also was crowned Ezinne Eji Ahu Uzo Nke Mbu of Immaculate society Umuonyeali ugo Mbieri.
In April 2006 the Immaculate Women Society crowned and honored her as Ome Udo 1 of Immaculate Women Society.
