Man makes case for yahoo boys.
2 min readA man suspected to be in his 70s had appealed to the Federal Government of Nigeria to let “Yahoo Boys” be because in his own opinion, it is the “Yahoo Boys” that are now running the economy as every other sector has collapsed. While trying to prove his points which he made in a viral video last week, the man stated that the hotels, eateries and many other places are the businesses moving and making their gains because of the patronage they all receive from “Yahoo Boys”. He went further to ask if the government of Nigeria would be justified to curb the activities of “Yahoo Boys” who are also known as internet fraudsters, considering the economic situation in the country today.
Speaking further, the man who spoke English English blamed the government for not providing anything for the youths who were then forced to go into Yahoo business should be allowed to continue with their business.
He warned that if the Federal Government finally stops “Yahoo Boys” from their business, the result would be a ripple effect where more criminals, hardships and more will envelope the country. He reminded the government that many foreign firms in Nigeria are leaving in their droves because of the failure of the government to create a conducive economic environment. He advised the government to attract foreign investments into the country and make Nigeria better and watch how “Yahoo Boys” will varnish.
Meanwhile, in a similar development, a court based in Kaduna State has last week, sentenced Joy Righteous, Bilbert Sabo, Godwill Dikko and Ransom J. Destiny to various jail terms over the offence of internet fraud. Umuaka Times local affairs correspondents gathered last week that the convicts were arraigned by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC over internet fraud.
Meanwhile a 20 year old “Yahoo Boy” named Daniel Bamidele has been arrested by the police in Ibadan for stabbing his parents on the allegation of blocking his Yahoo business success. Daniel told the police that his mother and elder brother conspired to dupe him of over N2million despite the promise he made to them to boast his mother’s business soon.
