2 min readIt was a big celebration, fun and entertainment in the Orisakwe family and the entire Isiozi Umuaka Catholic community as one of their daughters, Miss Maria Nchedochukwu Orisakwe was on 4th September 2021 professed (that is, ordained) a Roman Catholic Reverend Sister after several years of preparations, commitment and hard work. The event which took place at the Congregation of the Daughters of Divine Love DDL, (Umuada Ihunanya Chukwu) Sacred Heart Chapel Abakpa Nike Enugu, Enugu State, had many Catholics in attendance from several parts of the country including some representatives from Umuaka.
Rev Sister Maria Nchedo Orisakwe who devoted all her life in the service of the Lord, has over the years encountered several difficulties while climbing the Catholic sisterhood ladder, was full of smiles and joy after she was professed.
The spiritual journey of Sister Maria Orisakwe started in 2008 and in 2014, she did her first profession. Umuaka Times gathered that the new sister was supposed to hold her last perpetual vow in 2020 but could not d o so due to the advent of Covid19 as she was in the country of Mali working in the vineyard of God.
In her prayers, Sister Orisakwa asked God for one thing in particular:”Eternal Father, bless and reward all those who have encouraged and helped me to answer your call. Grant eternal rest for my parents late Robert and Cecelia Orisakwe, my twin sister and all the faithful departed.”
The new sister also thanked all her siblings, all the Orisakwes and the Isiozi Catholic family and the Knight of St John, Dame Catherine Odueze, her uncle, Eze Isi Mmiri, Dee Martin and Dee Charlie Nwagbara, Dee Valentine Nwanyanwu, our reverend fathers and sisters who assisted me in different ways and the Amaigbo Catholic family and the parish priest of St Joseph Catholic Church Isiozi, Father Isidore as well as the parish council. Our leader, Rev Mother Anastasia Dike and my fellow sisters in the lord. I also like to thank Dee Ernest Nwanyanwu (Fefe) and the entire Umuaka sons and daughters including, Umuaka Times for all their contributions.
