Meet Chidiebere Osuala, the mentally challenged boy God set free in Umuaka.

Something highly remarkable happened on Friday June 14, 2024 in Afor Umuaka. On this particular day, an Nkwerre born mentally unstable boy known as Samuel Chidiebere Osuala 28 years of age was walking around the environment of Afor Umuaka before he suddenly came across a mystery young boy perhaps filled with Holy Spirit and simply known as Mr Onyedikachi Alex Obed Iwuoha. The mystery boy hails from Uba Umuaka.
Moved by the Holy Spirit after setting his eyes on him, Mr Iwuoha, as directed by the Holy Spirit, initiated healing prayers for the boy and in few minutes time, crowd gathered and joined in the prayer session. Iwuoha began his prayers and supplications to God Almighty in the full view of everyone. All the onlookers joined the prayer ministry and in about an hour’s time, the 28 year old mentally unstable Samuel Chidiebere Osuala received an undiluted divine healing.
At the end of the prayer session food, water, soft drink and new cloths were given to him by sympathizers. Almost immediately the healing was established, Iwuoha took the now healed Samuel to a prayer camp managed by Reverend Father Odinkalu. From what Umuaka Times gathered last week, Samuel was at the camp for about a week. During his stay at the camp, more prayers were offered and rehabilitation process began.
Just last week, Umuaka Times went in search of Samuel and the man who prayed for him. Findings made by Umuaka Times showed that tremendous improvements have so far been recorded on the life and mental health of the boy in question. More findings reveal that he can now stay quietly, ask reasonable questions, eat properly and interact with people as a normal human being.
Convinced that a high level of improvement has been established, Iwuoha and his prayer camp decided to take the boy to his village to officially present him to his family members. On the day he was taken to his home town in Nkwerre, the family could not believe what they saw because over the years of his disappearance and mental instability, the family had painfully concluded that her son had died somewhere. It was a big fun coupled with heavy hearts. In double quick time, neighbours gathered and the happiness intensified. The reunion was indeed classic.
A peep into the life and educational backgrounds of Samuel Osuala by Umuaka Times shows that Samuel managed to complete his primary school education and shortly after that, the mental instability set in. As far back as 2004, the poor boy that was around 6 years old then was already in Afor Umuaka as a victim of mental health crisis. He was always seen by people carrying sticks and using his fingers to block his two ears. A source that spoke with Umuaka Times last week confirmed that they used to see the boy during their secondary school days. Further facts gathered by Umuaka Times indicate that Samuel had been on the streets for over two decades as a mentally challenged boy. There was a time he was inflected with a deep cut on his leg. Many people assumed that he was going to die during those days but according to the source, “God saved him.” Iwuoha told Umuaka Times that the problem of the boy was deeply a spiritual problem which needed a spiritual solution as directed by God.
During his crisis period, Samuel never spoke Igbo language; he preferred to communicate in Pidgin English. During rainy season and every other season, the poor boy was always in Afor Umuaka, hungry, wailing and moving alone on his own helplessly.
Samuel who has reunited with his family members in Nkwerre is now literally starting life anew. He is trying to learn a lot ranging from speech making, coordination, adaptability and more. He does not even know his family members anymore. Iwuoha who refused to accept any form of appreciation till date after the healing appealed to Umuaka Times and others to continue to give God the praises for the healing. He also appealed for support on the sustainability of the boy who is now recovering and getting himself. From what Iwuoha told Umuaka Times, “God loves him so much. You see, humans wrote him off but that was not God’s wish for him.”
His disposition and calmness may be why God decided to heal him through Iwuoha who is also a young boy of 25 years. For now the healing process has been concluded and Samuel is back to life. What remains now is the process of rehabilitation which requires a lot of energy, cash, love and efforts. Umuaka Times is already planning an official visit to the family in Nkwerre very soon.
