Meremikwu volunteers to train Akalites on cyber security for free.
2 min readUS based investor, high profile Akalite and philanthropist, Mr Johnbosco Meremikwu has tasked Akalites to embrace the IT industry which he described as the current global goldmine the world has turned into.
Mr Meremikwu who is the winner of Umuaka Times Digital CEO of the Year 2023, made the appeal to Umuaka Times last week while holding talks with the US correspondent of the newspaper. The CEO of PatapataNet who did not only task Akalites to embrace a program in the IT world, also volunteered to train some willing Akalites on cyber security, internet technology and more, absolutely free of charge.
It can be recalled that Mr Meremikwu’s philanthropic gestures helped to install the first street CCTV coverage in Umuaka, precisely in Amakor Autonomous Community. Already some Akalites have indicated their interest to run several IT programs with the PatapataNet firm.
While outlining the advantages of the IT global business in the world today, Mr Meremikwu blamed youths who have smart phones only to buy data and enjoy whatsapp and other social media digital platforms just for fun. “I am volunteering to train them in IT business and make them successful in life.”
The Umuaka Times Digital CEO of the Year lamented that most of the youths in Umuaka today perish for lack of knowledge. He advised parents in Umuaka to introduce their children to the IT world which is the new direction of the world economy.
Umuaka Times finally gathered that the training would begin in the first quarter of 2024 in Amakor community.
