Mrs Benedeth Okwaraojiaku buried amidst tears.

Mrs Benedeth Ikwuoma Okwaraojiaku, the last wife of Okwara Ojiaku who died recently was buried in her home town Umuezikoha Uba Umuaka Njaba LGA Imo State. On her burial day, January 4, 2022, the motorcade conveying her corpse touched Afor Umuaka at exactly 15 minutes after 8 am and headed straight to the deceased compound in Uba. Before the arrival of the corpse, many family members, clubs, Christian mothers and fathers, friends and well wishers were already in the compound waiting for the great arrival of the woman who laboured hard to train her children when she lost her husband at an early age.

The undertakers, who clad in white suites, sky blue shirts and  red ties were carefully dancing and moving slowly as they were entering the family compound. Immediately they reached the compound, they headed straight to the lying in state room prepared by some interior decoration experts who took time to design the decoration pattern for the room. Shortly after this, the master of ceremonies who anchored the funeral ceremony by name Mr Dona Ijeoma  announced the order of viewing and paying the last respect to the woman. Because of time constrains, the children of the deceased, family members, extended families, relations and others were given few minutes to see the corpse for the last time and the segment came to an end.

Off to Church the motorcade went out again. The requiem Mass which was conducted in Latin and English also didn’t last for long. During the gospel time, the officiating priest asked the congregation to always probe themselves to know when they engage on what pleases God and what pleases the devil. He emphatically told them to always remember death and live their lives according to Bible standards.

Shortly after the sermon, the service came to an end and they congregation went back to the Okwara Ojiaku family for interment. At the graveside, the priest prayed for the repose of the soul of the dead and other faithfully departed and the casket was lowered to the grave, signaling the final end for Mrs Benedeth Ikwuoma Okwaraojiaku who lived for 83 years.
