2 min readOn Thursday November 19, 2020, the publisher of Umuaka Times, Mr Darlington Ojy Onwukwe initiated a discussion with the Nigerian based South African communications giant, MTN, over the poor services of the telecom firm in Umuaka and its environs especially, during Christmas period. After speaking with an MTN agent which lasted 14 minutes, the firm promised to officially handle the case and seek ways of improving her services to the town
Onwukwe who expressed deep shock that close to a period of 10 years this problem started, the MTN firm is yet to dictate it from its database not to talk of fixing the problem. He warned that a survey carried out by Umuaka Times over the development, many MTN subscribers in the locality are set to drop their MTN lines and switch over to other networks that will give them the quality services they seek, if nothing is done by MTN to improve her services in the community.
While responding to the issues raised by Onwukwe, the MTN agent confirmed that she was responding from Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State. She promised that the case will be properly handled before Christmas period. She went further to promise that MTN will send some of her engineers to assess the level of network fluctuations in the community and do the needful.
Not satisfied by this verge promise, Onwukwe demanded to engage a superior official of the firm on the line of duty. When the superior official came on board, he spoke with Onwukwe and asked some certain questions about the community and finally assured him that the issue would be properly diagnosed and looked into as soon as possible.
