“My calling to heal the sick is from God.” Chief Jude Nkemakonam.

On face value, you would think he is an ordinary person but the Ebekuo Dike 1 of Obinwanne Autonomous Community in the former Umuaka community Imo State is a man whose spiritual value or significance has indeed restored the lost hopes of many families and brought happiness to them. Many across the entire South Eastern Nigeria and other states as well, Umuaka Times learnt, can truly testify to this claim.
Describe Chief Nkemakonam as a healer, herbalist, orthodox physician or a saver of lives, you will still be correct because the “papa ejima” is himself a solution to many ailments. According to what he told Umuaka Times, he has done a lot of works over the decades in search of good life ranging from being a policeman, 3 years after the war to a motorcycle mechanic. Today, the gentleman has indeed found love in working for humanity as he got a divine calling to liberate men and women alike from several ailments.
When Umuaka Times visited the always happy man in his residence and clinic in Obinwanne last week, he welcomed the reporter and cracked jokes with him about life, law and justice. He spoke on a wide range of issues about living and dying and solution to health challenges humanity is facing today. According to Chief Nkemakonam, it was God who directed him to be doing what he is doing today because, he has saved many people from untimely deaths through the divine intervention God placed on his shoulders. “My brother, it is God who called me to be doing this work and I do it with the total fear of God and all my patients usually leave here happy.” In a video interview that went viral last week which was recorded by Umuaka Times, Chief Nkemakonam expressed shock on the amount of time, energy and resources Nigerians waste on medical tourism overseas while the solution is here in Obinwanne.
When asked to explain what made him say it was God that gave him the assignment he does today, Chief Nkemakonam replied saying, “I never went to any herbalist or orthodox doctor to learn or study how to heal the sick, it was God who made it so. Do you think that is ordinary?”
The Umuaka Times reporter who was amazed by this claim further asked him to explain how he does his work. According to him, he uses both traditional and orthodox solutions to treat his patients. “It is the spirit of God that directs me on the best option to follow while treating my patient. Did you observe that I have no sign post here? My signposts are those I have treated and they usually tell others.”
What are the ailments that this divine Chief treats? According to him, chief among the treatments he provides to people is an infection called achaere (achaere is a leg infection widely believed by many to be a punishment charm sent to someone to kill or permanently disable him by his enemy). He also cures a variety of skin infections. Diseases like asthma, epilepsy, ulcer, pile and many more have all been totally rendered ineffective before his clinic. Many people, especially those who spoke to Umuaka Times confirmed that the clinic of Chief Jude Nkemakonam is indeed a solution ground for the sick.
A female patient who spoke to Umuaka Times said: “He is God-sent to help people. With the precious and priceless gift of this nature, you will agree with me that God really loves Umuaka.”
To confirm this testimony from his patient, hear him. “As I said before, nobody trained me. It is the work of God. I use herbs and orthodox drugs to cure people, depending on what is really wrong with the fellow.”
In the nearest future, Chief Dr Nkemakonam will certainly emerge as one of the most prominent healers and doctors across Igboland. Only time will tell for Chief.
