1 min readThe Chief Executive Officer, Stemarine International and Technical Ltd, Dr Duru Stephen Chidozie, last week played host to a team of the representatives of Nigerian Naval Command Port Harcourt who paid an official visit to his firm which specializes in boat building.
According to what Umuaka Times gathered from Dr Duru, he was happy to welcome the team of naval officers from the Nigerian Naval Base Port Harcourt. Although the details of their discussion were still sketchy as at press time, but it is believed that the visit centered on discussions on the way forward on the development of sea transport etc in the state in particular and the country in general.
Dr Duru who is a marine engineer and an associate professor at the Niger Delta University Wilberforce Island, is also a boat builder, high profile Akalite, administrator and a top rated industrialist. He is among the new breed Nigerian industrialists of today who are breaking new grounds in the areas of transport. His boats are known for their durability, high speed performance and comfort.
It is believed that it was these qualities that attracted the official visit of the naval command to Stemarine International and Technical Ltd . Last year, the firm successfully secured the attention of several news media houses in Nigeria when it built a portable boat with high quality performance ability which was christened MV Tuga.
