Nigerian Army promotes Princess Oluchukwu Owowo to the rank of Lieutenant.
1 min readCelebrations again hit the famous Owowo family of Isiozi Akah in Njaba LGA Imo State as one of her ilustrious daughters Princess Oluchukwu Owowo was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant by the Nigerian Army. It can be recalled that Lt Owowo made ruled both local and international media space a couple of months ago as she became the first Nigerian female officer to be trained in the UK Military Academy. Umuaka Times correspondents in London gathered that the 24 year old Owowo was among the 135 cadets to have graduated from the academy during the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst parade in London on April 12 2024.
According to the information obtained from the official X social media handle of the Nigerian Army, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja authorised the promotion.
The docoration Umuaka Times was reliably informed was held at the Nigerian Defence Academy Officers’ Mess and Golf Club in Abuja. The Commandant of the NDA, Major General J.O Ochai while speaking during the event described Owowo as a woman of excellence with a track record of excellence.
Top militry officers of Nigerian Army were present during the event. Efforts to speak with Lt. Owowoh by Umuaka Times proved abortive as she was said to be very busy.
Several Akahlites who heard the good news last week took to their different social media outlets to congratulate Lt. Owowo who has distinguished herself in her chosen profession.
