The royal father of Obinwanne Umuaka Autonomous Community, HRM Eze Justin Ezeala has distributed 100 bags of 10kg rice to each of the 18 Catholic Parishes in Njaba LGA (totaling 1800 bags) to share for the most needy parishioners respectively during the 2025 Easter celebrations.
The royal father confirmed this in an exclusive interview he had with Umuaka Times shortly before press time last week.
According to the Onye Eze, he decided to reach out to “the very poor in Njaba LGA” to commemorate the Easter celebration with those in need, considering the harsh economic realities of the country. He used the opportunity to remind the citizens of Njaba Local Government especially Catholics, to remain focused and continue to have faith in God for a better tomorrow. He acknowledged the hardship the citizens of Njaba Local Government may face and therefore urged them to be resilient and continue to always show love to their neighbours.

Besides the needy that benefitted from the empowerment, Umuaka Times also gathered that all the Catholic priests in Njaba LGA got 2 bags of rice each as a form of thank you from the Obinwanne monarch for their commitments and sacrifices over the years in spreading the gospel. In Obinwanne town, other churches outside the Catholic Church also benefitted from the empowerment.
The Obinwanne monarch distributed 600 bags of 50kg rice in total as many other beneficiaries who have provided leadership to our people in old Umuaka benefited from the empowerment. Eze Nwanne thanked the Hon. member representing Njaba State constituency, traditional rulers, PGs and youths for their unity and service to Akahland.
In his concluding message to Njaba people, Onye Eze used the opportunity and thanked the men and women of Njaba LGA, especially Catholics, for their resilience and appealed to them to continue to have faith in God especially in this period of Lent.
