2 min readThe people of Nsukwe Ubakala in Umuahia South LGA of Abia State will probably be expecting a new king who will replace the former Eze Samuel Iheukwumere Anyanwoke, the Isiala 1 of Nsukwe Ubakala who passed on to the great beyond on Friday 20 October 2023 after a brief illness. This exclusive information was gathered by Umuaka Times reporters during the burial celebrations of the late monarch in Nsukwe Ubakala Umuahia South LGA of Abia State last week.
According to High Chief Umezuruike, the Traditional Prime Minister and the regent of the community who exclusively spoke with Umuaka Times, the late royal father was the first monarch of the community and he was a liberal minded father and grandfather to all. He used all his strength to protect the community from social dangers. The Traditional Prime Minister told Umuaka Times that, “After his burial, I will be looking after the community and we will stay without an eze for one full year. That is by April next year, we can start the talks by then on how to select a new monarch.”
Umuaka Times also gathered that the community is divided into two blocs and each bloc will rule after the other has ruled. For now, the ezeship is in bloc A and it will definitely move to bloc B after the entire process which will begin by April 2025.
With this message from the regent of Nsukwe town, it is strongly believed that the elders of Nsukwe will work very hard and give the community a new king to replace the royal father, Eze Samuel Iheukwumere Anyanwoke, the Isiala 1 of Nsukwe who died on Friday 20 October 2023.
