5 min read

The much awaited and publisized NUPI empowerment program had come and gone. The program which was held in Crusade Hall Afor Umuaka saw youthful Akalites learn new skills as a good number of them received start-up grants.

Mr Vinepaul Chimnemezu Nwaeze, the New Umuaka Project Initiative NUPI, Youth Director and a top voice for the youths in the organization as well as a member of the organising team, told Umuaka Times that “The NUPI conducted the training and skill acquisition for all interested Akah youths. However, the financial empowerment was restricted to only youths who are members of NUPI. This position was properly communicated to the youths.”

He also disclosed to Umuaka Times that “Apart from the participants who came 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 8 other participants in the competition will get N72,000 each as consolation prizes.”

After the skills acquisition program, participants were asked to submit business proposals which they all did. At last justice was done to the proposals as terms and conditions applied.

Umuaka Times gathered that all the winners in the program were all Akalites. The NUPI Youth Director issued a press statement at the end of the event. The press statement was made available to Umuaka Times. Below is the text:
