Nursing student thanks parents for sending her to Merit College.
2 min readAn Uba Umuaka born student of Merit College of Nursing Umuowa Imo State has thanked her parents for sending her to the highly prestigious health institution. Miss Okpara Elochukwu Justina who is a student of Basic Nursing at the institution spoke with Umuaka Times during the recently held matriculation ceremony of the school.
Miss Justina Okpara who is one of the students of the school from Umuaka told Umuaka Times that she is in the great institute to run a program which includes Basic Nursing and Basic Midwifery which is a four year course. She praised the Merit College of Nursing for the attention the school accords to the students both morally and academically. She described her academic sojourn in the school as being characterized by “A lot of feelings or emotions combined with happiness, joy, gratitude and so many good feelings. Personally being a student of Merit is a big opportunity.”
Speaking further on the merits of the Merit College of Nursing, Miss Okpara described the school as a centre of excellence with a mission to “produce exceptional, high performing nurses and leaders who would transform the healthcare and the lives of the communities we serve with evidence-based knowledge to practice nursing with creativity, compassion and commitment.”
The institution according to her, remains one of the best in the country because of the heavy investment so far made by its founders and handlers. “With a highly equipped library, the institution uses platforms like osmosis, canvas, Elsevier to teach students.
While concluding her interview with Umuaka Times, the brilliant student thanked her parents Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Okpara from Uba Umuaka, her sisters, uncles and aunties for their support so far. “Everyone has really been very supportive and helpful in one way or the other,” she confirmed to Umuaka Times. She described her parents, supportive family members and the school at large as her strong backbone.
On her message to other parents who are yet to send their children to the great institution, Miss Okpara proudly put it this: “Yes, I will not only advise, I will also push hard within the limit of my power and influence to make sure it is done because I am a partaker of the wonderful, hard-to-come-by opportunities the college has presented me with. Hence, I want others to benefit also from it and together, we will all transform the healthcare and the lives of the communities we serve.”
