Ojiyoma Dennis marks birthday in grand style.
2 min readMr Ojiyoma Dennis, an American expatriate and an international development expert based in Port Harcourt had a thanksgiving service last week in the Garden City. The thanksgiving was also a part of the activities slated to mark his birthday which originally was on December 1st.
Friends and colleagues of the celebrator had gathered from Kaduna, Abuja, Lagos and his home state of Delta to honour and celebrate with him. In a telephone conversation with Umuaka Times precisely two days after the event, Ojiyoma who is currently doing his doctorate degree program, told Umuaka Times that he saw the need to thank God for all he has achieved so far with little or no help from people. “I just want to use this opportunity to thank God and celebrate my birthday. The love God has demonstrated towards me is really in excess supply. At times when I sit back and think of how it all started, I just conclude that it is only God that would make it happen.”
With two Bachelor’s Degrees in social Work from two American universities, Mr Ojiyoma Dennis had some reasons to thank God. He also extended his thanks to some individuals who in one way or the other shaped his professional life. Those individuals include Dr. Sylvia Adebajo, Rev. Grace Imathiu, Marie Hobart, Bill Kadish, and Joseph Akoro. Ojiyoma Dennis is currently the Deputy Executive Director – Center for Population Health Initiatives – CPHI, an international development agency based in Port Harcourt Rivers State.
