ORAUSA: Chief Tony Ike Okpara concludes term in a blaze of glory.
2 min readThe erstwhile top official of Orlu Regional Assembly ORAUSA, Chief Tony Ike Okpara has meritoriously completed his second term as the president of the union. Umuaka Times learnt that Chief Okpara who holds the prestigious chieftaincy title of Ebubedike 1 of Umuaka and Ebekuodike 1 of Uloano Ndugba ended his term on June 27 2021 and his former vice president, Dr Uzo Unegbu took over from him as the current president of the union. When Umuaka Times spoke with Chief Okpara last week through the American correspondent of the newspaper, he confirmed that ORAUSA had already held a fresh election and new leaders have emerged.
On his experiences as the leader of the famous ORAUSA during his tenure, Chief Okpara told Umuaka Times in simple terms that, “Yes, I have served out my terms. It feels good serving the community. More so, when the community acknowledges that you accomplished the set goals.”
According to Ebubedike, the ORA Youths wing of ORAUSA in appreciation of his services to the body, worked with Sonex Oguike, a famous Highlife musician, his nephew Chinemerem Okpara and his family without his knowledge and surprised him with a tribute song performed and produced by Sonex Oguike himself.
On those he would like to thank for their contributions and instrumentality on the overall success recorded by the organization during his terms, Chief Okpara, thanked his wife, family, the current president of the union Dr Uzo Unegbu who is from Obinugwu in Orlu LGA and all the members of his cabinet as well as the past executives and patrons of the body who put up their best to the union during his tenures. He went further to describe the successes recorded by his cabinet during their time as a team work.
The Ebubedike also used the opportunity to thank God for his guidance throughout his tenures and prayed that God will also give the new team the wisdom to navigate the ORAUSA affairs.
