Owerri Municipal Council set to create new bus park order.
1 min readIf what Umuaka Times heard last week in Owerri is anything to go by, in few weeks coming, a couple of new bus parks will soon be created in the Imo capital city of Owerri. Speculations Umuaka Times could not confirm emerged last week which held that new bus parks for buses coming into Owerri main city would be created at various exit roads in the state capital.
For those coming into Owerri town from Orlu, Umuaka, Orodo and more, will drop their passengers at the motor park opposite Rochas Market in Akwakuma. Those coming in from Onitsha Road will also be required to drop their passengers at Arugo Park off Onitsha Owerri Road. This means that when passengers drop for instance, at Rochas Market park, they would be required to enter another town service bus to take them to their various destinations inside Owerri main town.
Umuaka Times gathered that the reason for this traffic reforms is to decongest the Owerri main town of heavy vehicular movements. For now, those coming into Owerri as well as bus drivers and their conductors are already on the lookout to witness when the new reform will take a practical shape.
