OZB’s victory: “Our people are not happy.” K.O. Odoemenem.
2 min readNjaba LGA born politician and the YPP candidate in the recently concluded Imo State House of Assembly elections, Hon Kingsley Obi Odoemenem has reacted to the judgment that pronounced Hon Ugonna Ozurigbo of PDP as the winner of House of Reps election for Njaba, Nwangele, Isu and Nkwerri otherwise known as NINN. Last week, Odoemenem who is also known as the Lion of Njaba really wondered how the PDP candidate was able to defeat the APC candidate Barrister Harrison Nwadike in the highly contested election.
From the concerns Odoemenem raised, Njaba and Isu LGAs have been playing a servant role to Nkwerre and Nwangele local government areas since the advent of the current democracy from 1999 till date. “You can see we are not happy. We, Njaba and Isu have not sent anybody to Abuja at the lower chamber since 1999 till date. Our voting capacity is there to speak for us and in the last election; we all voted and fully supported Harrison Nwadike. We were surprised and disappointed at the judgment. For how long are we going to do follow-follow politics? To Nkwerri and Nwangele blocs?”
Odoemenem while addressing the issue described the victory of Honourable Ugonna Ozurigbo as another slap on the faces of Njaba and Isu voters and residents.
On Chief Harrison Nwadike, Odoemenem appealed to the Okwudor born politician to be patient and hopeful as a period of four years will just be around the corner soon. He finally appealed to the APC supporters and men and women in Nkwerre and Nwangele who are strong advocates of justice and fair play to remain focused and start to plan now on how the power of representing NINN Constituency will be shifted to us.
“We are confident that by next election, through the power of God, our people must secure victory at the House of Reps.”
