Pastor George Izunwa’s free medical program takes off from 22 Feb.
2 min readCome Thursday, 22 February, Friday 23 February and Saturday 24 February 2024, all roads in Njaba LGA of Imo State will lead to Hilltop Primary School Uba Umuaka where the annual 3 day free medical outreach and empowerment program by the Pastor George Izunwa Foundation will take place. For weeks now, starting from November 2023, the local organizing committee and the global organizing committee of the foundation have been planning on the best way to carry out the program successfully as the program never took place in the last 2 years as a result of insecurity and Covid19 pandemic.
As usual, the medical outreach which holds no restriction to people from other communities around Umuaka will also embark on empowerment programs to build the capacity of others who may not be seeing for medical help.
Umuaka Times learnt last week that the foundation has enlisted a good number of students to register them for WAEC and NECO exams. Also to benefit are some people who have learnt some skills but have no cash to start. Although Umuaka Times could not establish the exact number of those to benefit from the empowerment but it is sure that many people across the secondary schools in Umuaka etc will end up as beneficiaries.
According to the information Umuaka Times obtained from the founder of the foundation, Pastor George Izunwa, there will be a shift from the usual manner the event had previously been held over the years. During the past years, the opening ceremonies had always taken place with top personalities and royal fathers in attendance but this time around, the closing ceremony will take the shine!
Expected at the event are the royal fathers in Umuaka community, the house member representing Njaba LGA at Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ozioma Worship and a host of other top personalities across the state.
